Chinese Medicine had recommended that during the summer- when the temperatures are high, we can cool our bodies with our food intake. * yin food to disperse the heat and have body fluids.
In Chinese medicine, we said that fire is summer- the liver and the bitter taste are related to summer. So mostly bitter-cold foods are recommended during the hot season. Here we have to say if you live in a country like Ireland, Uk, where her summer is not so hot, the following food has to be eaten in moderation as its purpose is to cool the body -in countries with the highest temperatures.
Recommended foods in summer:
Fruit or fruit juices: Apple, kiwi, lemon, mango, melons, orange, passionfruit, pear, pineapple,
Cooling foods: Belgian endive hearts, Cucumber, salads, spinach, tomato.
Please remember that depending on the high temperature, you may need more or less cooling food.
