If you have a chronic or acute illness, acupuncture will help you; however, I would like you to read the following text, so you know
what to expect when you go for acupuncture treatment. If your pain or illness has been there
for less than one week, 1 to 3 sessions will be enough, but if your pain has been for more than a few months or years, you will need more acupuncture sessions. Also, it could be that a change of habits is required, such as a balanced diet, etc.
The sessions are divided into 3 phases: Relief, Corrective, and Maintenance, and you should know what the phases are for.
Relief:
Whether it is pain in the back, or knee or anxiety, in the first stage, the symptoms decrease; for example, pain can
decrease in the first session from 50% to 90%; if it is anxiety, you will feel better only a few days after the acupuncture treatment. So depending on the vitality and lifestyle of each person, you would need more frequent treatments. This phase could be from two acupuncture sessions to more until you are free of pain or not anxiety during the week.
Corrective:
This is the second stage, where there is no longer any pain or symptoms present; in this phase, the acupuncturist
will treat the underlying issue or root of the problem.
If the treatment is stopped at this stage, no cure has been reached, as the root of the cause is still there, and the pain or illness can reappear at any time, with the minimum event.
Maintenance:
Once the root of the problem has been reached and treated, it is recommended to have an acupuncture treatment either once a month or once a quarter to keep the body's energy Qi stable. For example, if you suffer from depression in the winter, before next year's winter arrives, a few sessions are recommended so that the Qi of the body is balanced or if there is back pain due to an accident or arthritis, a session per month will be recommended to keep the meridians balance without any pain.
As mentioned at the beginning, lifestyle, including food, exercise, and stress management, are essential factors that must also be considered so that energy remains high.
