* Weak grip strength

The doctor, to discard other severe illnesses as Arthritis or nerve compression, will request an EMG Electromyography.
Treatment
80% to 95% of patients will only need a nonsurgical treatment.
Rest is the first and more important step to recovery. The doctor could prescribe some anti-inflammatory medicines to reduce pain and swelling.
Physical therapy as wrist stretching plus
acupuncture may help to improve the muscles and tendon healing.
